The Independent Hose Company of Jersey Shore was founded in 1902 by a group of concerned citizens who recognized the need for fire protection in town. We began with a hand drawn hose cart then moved to horses and motorized equipment. Currently we provide primary protection services to Porter, Piatt, and Watson Townships as well as the Jersey Shore Borough. Our services include fire protection, vehicle rescue, medical assists, traffic control, wild land fires, rope rescue, hazardous material incidents, water rescue as well as public service needs.
